So a couple days ago I discussed the strategy I use to obtain the cheapest possible tickets on Southwest Airlines; just today I fired up Ding!, a proprietary piece of software Southwest uses to publicize special sale fares, to find that the airline is offering users of the software 15% off all travel from 8/23 to 10/30. Well, it does appear that blackout dates apply (I couldn’t find a concrete list), and tickets must be purchased by 4/21. Nevertheless, this could yield some great savings if you’re planning a fall getaway.

In theory, the discount is only available to customers who have installed Ding! on their computers, but in practice, it does appear that anyone can obtain these fares using discount code DING15.
