So this week, no less than four blog carnivals were gracious enough to feature my posts. Here’s the rundown:
Carnival of Personal Finance #150 - Hosted by Lazy Man and Money and featuring my post How much is a penny worth?
Carnival of Debt Reduction #137 - Hosted by Broke Grad Student and featuring my post The real truth about credit cards: why Dave Ramsey is wrong, which was honored with an editor’s choice. Thanks!
Festival of Frugality #123 - Hosted by Sound Money Matters and featuring my post Use MyPoints and eke out a few bucks for doing nothing.
Money Hacks Carnival #10 - Hosted by Money Hacks and featuring my post Leaving town? Don’t waste money on car insurance.
Thank you to all those who worked hard to make these carnivals come together. There are hundreds of posts to read through here, and I haven’t finished all of them, but these are some of my favorites so far:
Unusual Ways to Get Money For College - This post discusses a couple of offbeat ways to generate cash that sound like they’d probably actually work. From Broke Grad Student (via the Carnival of Personal Finance).
One Phone Call - $1,000 Saved - This is about lowering credit card interest rates over the phone, and there are a couple of important lessons here. First: to receive, you have to ask. Also: don’t give up. There’s always somebody else you can nag. From My Daily Dollars (via the Carnival of Debt Reduction).
One Potential Benefit of Higher Gas Prices - Less Traffic - This is kind of a genius realization that many people probably won’t agree with. I don’t like high gas prices either, but I agree that they’re going to fix a lot of problems. From Money Blue Book (via the Festival of Frugality).
Top 5 Freebie Websites - Cheap is good and free is awesome. It’s hard to find good free stuff, but occasionally decent offers will pop up on sites like those listed here. From Fire Finance (via the Money Hacks Carnival).
